What if you could have broken bones reset or end pain without drugs or surgery? And what if all this could be done without you ever having to leave your home? Now how much would you pay? If you said $60 (U.S.), then call chiropractor James Burda. But hurry! James Burda may soon be locked up. The Athens, Ohio, man claims to be sole practitioner of Bahlaqeem, which Burda says is “a made-up word.” Burda claims he can end a variety of joint, back and osteal problems and injuries simply by instructing wayward bones to go back to the way they ought to be, even over the phone or via e-mail. The Ohio State Chiropractic Board thinks Burda possesses not some mystic talent, but rather “a mental illness, specifically, Delusional Disorder, Grandiose Type.” Burda has until May 1 to respond to accusations of willful and gross misconduct. After that, the board will decide on whether he will be fined, stripped of his licence to practise or both. » Scott Saxon |
