The one question that some may ponder is this: did anyone get an erection? And could it have been 49-year-old Rudolph Claude Smith, the Charleston County, South Carolina, man who visited his 66-year-old neighbour to borrow some oil for his workout, took off all his clothes and, according to police, asked the woman to “oil him up?” Did either of the two officers dispatched to Smith’s home get an erection as they attempted to wrestle the naked, now-oiled man to the ground? Did they both get one?

Police say the oil made Smith difficult to grab and that he repeatedly slipped out of the officers’ grasps as he attempted to hit them with nunchucks. The judge set Smith’s bail at $30,000 for assault and indecent exposure charges.

In his defence, Smith told the judge that “unbeknownst to the people of Charleston,” he was the owner of a “multi-million-dollar corporation.” His family, on the other hand, testified that Smith was merely mentally unsound.
