Was there a better learning aid for kids in the ’70s and early ’80s than the edifying hilarity of The Electric Company? That era was really a heyday for educational programming, much of it produced by the Children’s Television Workshop, the same good people behind Sesame Street.

The Electric Company was meant for kids who had “graduated” from Sesame, and used comedy and superhero antics (like the bumbling Blue Beetle) to instruct. And what a cast!
