Man bites dog

Lawyers and pigs

It could have been quickly explained away as an example of lawyer/client relations or an illustration of the attitude a Bush-appointed Supreme Court judge is expected to have toward the U.S. Constitution. Sadly, it was not to be, and so 47-year-old Samuel Naves has little to say in his own defence for showing his criminal justice class a brief clip of a man and a pig getting busy.

According to the Grand Rapids Community College campus newspaper, Naves was in class projecting curriculum-related video clips from his e-mail when he landed on one showing the love that dare not leave its pen. Naves said students pleaded with him to let them see more, despite his warnings that the film was actual footage of man-pig intimacy. So he ran the clip. Naves has since resigned his post.

Though school officials would not confirm Naves’ reasons for leaving, pretty much everyone is sure it has something to do with the video.
