Paper trails to the shredder |
|
Another Bush, another complete disregard for the law. If you believe the alternative press, and there’s really no reason you shouldn’t, Florida Governor Jeb Bush is proving his big brother George isn’t the only sneaky bastard in the family by destroying public records and documents tied to the ongoing Abramoff investigations. According to Insider Magazine, sources inside the Florida Department of Business and Professional Regulation—the department that handles state gaming licences, slot machines and race tracks—have come forward to reveal activities that violate state laws. The article says Jeb ousted ranking department staffers to clear their positions for Bush-family pals from Texas, and assigned the new regime the task of making sure certain paper trails were cut short. Insider reports that the FBI has confirmed that Jeb ordered the shredding of public records, and suggest it’s in response to ongoing investigations into the many crimes of disgraced lobbyist Jack Abramoff, including a federal investigation of the 2001 murder of SunCruz casino boat owner Gus Boulis. Boulis sold Abramoff and an associate the SunCruz fleet, which the duo then used to rip off investors. » Scott Saxon |
