For the truly diverse experience, just a small reminder that you have until tomorrow (Friday, Dec. 2) to RSVP for your complimentary tickets to the mysterious sensory party happening on Monday, Dec. 5. For those of you who haven’t heard of this crazy thing, 70 students from the Theatre of the Senses course, directed by renowned Canadian composer R. Murray Schafer, have been exploring ways of blending touch, taste and smell with audio and visual activities to produce a total sensory experience. On Monday at 7 p.m., buses will take ticket-holders to the super-secret location and perform unspeakable acts of erotic torture on them. Just kidding, I have no idea what will happen, but e-mail lina.uberti@concordia.ca before tomorrow to find out! Friday, it’s time to get dancefloor-dominated and celebrate the berfday of Montreal’s first lady of tech-house, Misstress Barbara. Stereo is where it all goes down, so remember to don your paper hats, grab one of those painfully annoying mini-horn things that sound like a duck passing a gall stone, and come out ready to party! It’s time to get wistful for the end of Voyeur Saturdays at Blizzarts as Jordan Dare dissolves his partnership with Bliss behind the longest-running electro night in Montreal. Make sure to catch his last set this Saturday, and watch out for the Voyeur monthlies at a new bigger venue in 2006! Sunday night, Robert de la Gauthier is dropping a special Depeche-Mode-only set at Kloc, where he’ll be spinning his fave DM originals and remixes all night. For any of you lucky duckies that have tix to the show, why not just give them to me and check out his night instead? Hey, can’t blame me for trying. Finally, kudos go to DJ Emmanuelle for starting up Ice Cream Mondays at Vinyl Lounge with Coleville Barns and Orchard Gear, giving people somewhere else to hear good choons on a Monday night. The idea of the night is simple: give known and unknown locals with a great record collection a forum to stretch out and drop their much loved, comfy home-listening tracks. This Monday will feature none other than DJ Maüs playing what’s billed as an anti-club set, providing a cozy soundtrack to ward off the encroaching winter blahs. A definite must-do!
