Mullet joke: The Pontiac Fiero was Detroit’s attempt at a mid-engined, slant-fronted, carbon-fibre-bodied, European-style sports car. Corey Hart was a Montreal-born, hair-gel-slicked, nocturnal-sunglasses-sporting early-to-mid-’80s pop star. Curiously, neither of these now-dated icons seem to have crossed paths—until the one-joke, poorly-written, amateurishly-rendered blog Corey Hart Drives a Fiero came along. Still, part of me wants to see how this turns out at www.coreyhartdrivesafiero.blogspot.com. Trader Vic: Kyle Macdonald is a Plateau guy who started out with one red paperclip and plans to keep trading up until he bags himself a house. So far he’s gone from ’clip to fish pen to weird doorknob to Coleman camping stove to a red gas-powered generator to a totally sweet neon Budweiser sign, a keg of beer and an IOU for another keg. He’s travelled to New York City and California to complete his transaction. Will he reach his goal and get a fly crib? Tune in at http://oneredpaperclip.blogspot.com. Comments? Michael Citrome |
