Travelling music

Good eats: Holly Moore is the type of guy you can sit down to a guilt-free dinner with—because you know he’ll out-eat you and order seconds. Holly’s travelled the highways, byways and subways of the USA searching out the best local cuisine, especially if it’s deep-fried, pan-fried or chicken-fried. Some of his discoveries include chili-covered Hungarian Coney dogs in Toledo, Ohio, giant deep-fried pork chop sandwiches in North Carolina, and the world Grits festival. Even dour vegans will have a Pavlovian reaction to Holly’s food raconteurism at www.hollyeats.com.

Multipla: The classic Volkswagen bus is a versatile beast—hippies, surfers, nuns, hot rodders and fruit-peddlers have all used the big, slow veedub as their primary means of conveyance. TheSamba.com has a wild archive of classic buses done up with all kinds of sideart, but not at all in the “busty Viking” of ’70s America. These are mostly commercial and hearken back to a simpler time when four cylinders and 65 miles per hour was enough for anyone at www.thesamba.com/vw/archives/lit/logobuses.php.
