Looks like SAT’s got all the answers, with good stuff happening almost every night this weekend. Tonight, Oct. 6, Robo/tek V.6 is going out live from SAT on CIBL 101.5 FM. It’s an early-evening electronic affair, from 7 p.m., with the soundtrack provided by Jan Pienkowski, Cyan, Insomniak and DJ Squid. On the visuals tip, Fluid, Nokami and Marie-Hélène Parant with performer Angela Di Lauro will also be on hand. There’s no cover, so if you’re looking for a nice, after-work drinky-poo, come on down! Friday night at SAT, Montreal’s electro label Lipstick throw another Blow Up party as DJs Nivoc, Jacob Asher, Pascal B and Vega dare to bare all. According to a recent e-mail, after suffering a long summer in the sun, the moral faculties of the organizers have become frizzle-fried, so they apologize in advance for any offence caused by the content of the visuals and décor. In other words, expect to see boobies, and lots of them. Six dollars at the door before midnight, $10 after. Also on Friday, the Main Hall’s monthly girls’ night Decade Danse—basically, bands fronted by girls—returns. Magneta Lane, Bad Flirt and Kickers will rock out while the Sugarpuss Burlesque do their sexy thing between sets. The first 10 girls get in free and every lady in the house gets a free drink! Ten bucks gets you in there like swimwear. Saturday, Oct. 8, SAT is presenting an homage to b-boy and b-girl culture with the latest installment of In Da Jungle: Breakin’ da Jungle, with Somsay, Pinky 38, Nitrous, Pi 67, Galaksy and Axionfigga. Expect members of Out of Boundz, Solid State and more to rep their crews. Cover is $5 before 11:30 p.m., $7 after. There’s something steamy happening over at Quartier Latin Pub. Salvation from Sin is the regular Saturday night at the QL, and DJ Sinister is the record-wielding redeemer. If you’re into soulful house à la Louie Vega, Ron Trent and Blaze, then look no further, Salvation is here! Well, there, really. No cover. Finally, big ups to my man DJ Bliss, who celebrates his birthday this Wednesday at Salon Daomé. Balance is the name of the shindig and Jasmine, Kobal and Spacekadet will all be dropping some birthday bumps and “no school” breaks with the birthday boy. Be there or be a square. HAIR OF THE DOG!
