Vidiot's Box

The marketing machine behind those pierced and tattied babes on suicidegirls.com is at it again. Suicide Girls: The First Tour, a documentary that follows 10 punk rock pinups as they strip, whip and lick their way across North America, is out on DVD this week. You can go behind the scenes as Stormy, the fame-hungry dominatrix, discovers the wonders of free backstage booze, or go on set with Pearl, the token topless hula hoop dancer, as she takes it all off for a promotional photo shoot.

In other Vidiot news, it looks like one of the only memorable films at last year’s World Film Fest will never see the light of day in Canadian theatres. Kontroll, a Hungarian dark comedy about a team of gangster-style ticket checkers who police Budapest’s underground subway system, is going straight to video. And speaking of WFF, if you didn’t get a chance to see Kim Ki-duk’s latest film Hwal last week, you can pick up his 2004 heartbreaker 3-Iron. This is by far the sweetest love story to incorporate golf rage to hit our screens in a long time. » Sarah Rowland
