Vidiot's Box

If you need a good laugh, check out the recently released, fully loaded director's cut of Oliver Stone's Alexander, starring the very Irish Colin Farrell as the Macedonian king, and the hopelessly American Angelina Jolie as the Greek goddess Olympias. In what seems like a desperate attempt to redeem himself after cracking more than a few top 10 worst-movie lists last year, Stone has massaged in some new footage and reworked several scenes. But unless he has a whole other movie in the can featuring actors who can actually maintain their required accents throughout the three-hour epic, it's really hard to imagine how he'll slice and dice his way out of this career gaff. He probably would have been better off repackaging his accidental comedy as the celebrated disaster that it is, maximizing those Showgirls-style moments.

And out just in time for its movie adaptation, seasons one through four of The Dukes of Hazzard can be purchased in one convenient box set. That's over 4,000 minutes of viewing pleasure, which breaks down to roughly 48 hours of back-road car chases, half a day devoted to T&A and a solid 600 minutes of "Yeeeeeeehaaaaaw!" » Sarah Rowland
