Reggae, regulated: Are you a reggae fan deep in whose chest beats the unchained heart of a tax accountant? Do you like to listen to reggae, but also know exactly who recorded what riddim track when? Sure you do. Reggae-Riddims is a high-tech searchable spreadsheet that indexes records by the backing track, so you can find out that Tenor Saw recorded "Ring the Alarm" (1985) over "Stalag" by the Techniques (1973), recently used by Sizzla, Buju Banton and Kardinal Offishall. Now anyone can (still) be a DJ at www.reggae-riddims.com. Why rotten: An anagram is when you take the letters in a word or phrase and rearrange them to make another word or phrase. Like "baked potato" becomes "poked at boat" or "Université de Montréal" becomes "menstruation relieved." OneAcross generates anagrams - just type in the words you want and it'll come up with a list. You can even include words you want in the output, so you can create anagrams for your friends' names with "penis" in them at www.oneacross.com. Comments? Michael Citrome |
