Burning down the crackhouse

It’s not easy to get rid of crackheads once they’ve found a place to nest. Kane County, Illinois, police say they tried to tell that to Dean Craig when he chose to open his home to crack smokers looking for a safe haven. They say they told Craig no good would come of it. Craig decided to learn that the hard way.

Returning home one night, Craig told two users that they’d have to leave so he could spend some time with a lady friend. According to Craig, the two laughed at him. Craig then told them if they didn’t leave, he’d burn the house down. They still refused to go so Craig poured rubbing alcohol on the floor and set the place ablaze.

When police arrived on the scene, Craig reportedly told them, “I did what you told me to.” Though the house itself was severely damaged, nobody got hurt. The two crackheads escaped through a window. Craig is facing arson charges.
