Despite the ominous snarl, it's not the canines of Australia's Northern Territories German Shepherd Dog Club that members have to be cautious of. Rather it's 52-year-old Shirley Irene Wright, who took club politics to a new level by placing fake ads in a newspaper directing lustful men to call two other female club members for phone sex. The first ad connected callers to "Sandy," described as "bashful" but "a devil after midnight." The ad encouraged callers to "bring your toys." As saucy as that might seem, the ad for "Pauline" was far more forthcoming. "Erotic fantasies are what I like," it read, "Home all day." The number listed in fact rang a 72-year-old woman in a wheelchair. An apologetic Wright pleaded guilty to two charges of unreasonably causing substantial annoyance. She was sentenced to 160 hours of community service and ordered to pay each victim $80 (AUS) and a $54 (AUS) medical bill one incurred seeking treatment for stress. » Scott Saxon |
