The war against judges |
|
Between his fear of Muslims, judges and liberals, it’s a wonder Pat Robertson ever gets a good night’s sleep. Even more stunning is his willingness to toss ridiculous comments out where thinking people can hear them. During an interview on ABC’s This Week, Robertson announced that the real threat to the U.S. today isn’t terrorism at all, but rather federal judges. As bad as they are, though, Robertson insisted it’d be much worse were a Muslim to hold that office. “They have said in the Koran there’s a war against all the infidels,” Robertson told This Week. “Do you want somebody like that sitting as a judge? I wouldn’t.” It’s no surprise Muslim groups have taken issue with his misinterpretation of their holy book. Arsalan Iftikhar of the Council on American-Islamic Relations said Robertson, “has taken his far-right-wing rhetoric to absurd levels. He is trying to perpetuate the notion that Islam is a monolithic entity at odds with modernity and democracy. That is absolutely false.” » Scott Saxon |
