Foot fetish: After spawning a hipster style trend and commanding hyper-inflated prices on eBay, the Nike Dunk, a sneaker created as entry-level footwear for college basketball teams in 1984, can now be made your way, Burger King-style. Nike's made-to-order division, NIKE iD, is now offering customized Dunks with the colours you choose, so you can match them with whatever you have in mind, from a throwback to a plaid leisure suit. You'll need an American shipping address at http://nikeid.nike.com.

Theatrical performance: It took two years, miles of red velvet, tons of plaster and a vast number of cans of Krylon 24k gold paint, but this guy Steve Jenkins built a miniature replica of a 1930s Greek-revival movie palace in the basement of his suburban Seattle McMansion. The photos, which include a step-by-step construction diary, reveal that anyone with some spare cash can turn their basement into Loews's. You can almost smell the popcorn at http://theater.stevejenkins.com.
