Cops refuse bribes!

It may be true that all things have their price, but the going rate for cops in Manhattan is not a paltry $100. At least, not the cop who pulled over Holiam Clement Ho.

Ho was stopped after running a red in lower Manhattan. Rather than deal with the shame of a moving violation, Ho asked the nice policeman to let things slide in exchange for a cool $100 (U.S.). Knowing that any bribery charge would end up being his word against Ho's, the cop told Ho that his pals on the force wanted a piece of the pie and had two other cops meet him on the scene.

Ho passed each of the three the promised $100, and was then arrested.

Police say Ho admitted his attempted bribery back at the station house. He also offered the cop taking his confession another $100 to let him go. He faces up to seven years in jail on four felony charges of bribery.
