The bone of the matter To Chris Barry, regarding aphrodisiacs ["Pills and potions of love," Feb. 10]: Just to let you know that I found your article very informative. However, I would like your opinion about two products in particular that you gave a favourable rating. All Nite Long. You mention that it enhances the erection and ejaculations are a bit more intense. However I'm not sure if I understand that it gets you in the mood. Can you please clear that up for me? Please let me know if the product gets oneself in the mood for sex. Yohimbee Fuel. You seemed very favourable about this product. You mentioned it enhances the erection but not the sexual desire. You go on to say that you had taken a couple of pills earlier and, while watching Frontline, you were "sporting a boner." Was it the pills that caused this and not the program Frontline? Or were you thinking about sex, and that gave you the rise? You mention that you "addressed the situation not once but twice." Do you mean you masturbated? Also, you were still hard after you whacked off. Did I understand you correctly? I am looking for a product that would get me in the mood for sex as well as give me a stiff erection. Of late - the past eight months or 10 - I have not been in the mood for sex, and my erections are not that "rock hard." Hopefully your advice may help me out. Also, can you tell me where I can find these products? Hoping to hear from you soon. » Willie Ed's note: Chris Barry responded to Willie in private. What about Joe? I bumped into Elinor Fueter two weeks ago. She was one of the 32 Joe dancers who kept on performing last year in Europe, even though the money to pay them had run out ["Moving on," Dec. 23, 2004]. She said they'd still not been compensated for the lost money. Indeed, I've not seen any further mention of this matter since it came up back in December. I realize that there's a fixed amount of money that the government has to hand out, but while the money concerned is a lot to each of the individual dancers, the total could so easily be lost in the budgets of all kinds of things. A little bit less extravagance somewhere, rather than cutting something completely, could free up the needed money. These aren't big stars who get loads of money. They are our neighbours, who you just might see riding around on a bicycle, if you were to recognize them in the first place. » Michael Black Rug poop justified That you make fun of the guy who took pleasure in having sex with a horse is okay with me, even though bestiality is still a crime and that guy didn't get what he deserved ["The year in weird crime," Dec. 23, 2004]. But in the case of Michèle Richard ["Celebrity poops on rug," same article], your facts were incorrect. First, tell me why you indicated that her "dogs" were forbidden in her hotel room when she owns only one dog? Second, the hotel management knew that she travels with her dog, and where her dog is not allowed, she does not go. So I'm inclined to think that it is not a "brouhaha carefully staged to promote her new CD," but a huge mistake on the part of the management not to clear the matter with diplomacy, rather opting to call in the Sherbrooke police thugs. You are not the only paper trying to sell copy over such a scandal. All the French media did the same, which is very condemnable considering that Michèle was the one there to have the presence of mind to respond to the police officers the same way they addressed her: with shit. But the whole incident was bullshit. She did nothing wrong. The misunderstanding came from the person who made the hotel reservation, if any responsibility needs to be found. I also noticed that the same media did not make the same tempest in a teacup with the cocaine-user singer when arrested. They treated the case with an innocent-till-proven-guilty approach. Which was not the case for Michèle. She should be commended, for in doing what she did, she is elevating the dog to a family-member status by letting people know that it's okay to bring dogs places and ask for them to be treated with kindness. She should get a medal from our local SPCA, because she's educating the public for them, by sensitizing pet owners to the needs of animals and how they should be treated: with dignity and respect. Michèle's dog is cleaner in a hotel room than all those big stars who burn the carpet and blankets with cigarette butts when tripping all over themselves. » Catherine Bégin, Lost and Found Pet Network WE WELCOME LETTERS TO THE EDITOR!Send your comments, compliments or criticisms to: Letters to the Editor, You may also fax us at (514) 393-3173, or reach us by e-mail: Letters to the Editor All letters should include your name, address and daytime phone number.
