"The ultimate goal is to make sexuality education readily available to everyone, all alternative lifestyles and all sexual orientations," she says. "There's no point in segregating people. Everybody is a human being and respect is the bottom line." Originally from Toronto, Kalenteris, 38, migrated to the sexual mecca of Montreal two years ago to study sexuality and psychology at Concordia, leaving two ex-husbands behind. "I decided to take some time and figure out what I wanted to do in life, instead of taking care of everyone else," she says. She decided to create Attitudes.cc, because she found it very difficult to find information, groups and associations. "So I decided to put everybody together under one umbrella." As part of that effort to bridge the deviant demographic divide, Attitudes.cc provides resources and links to delight, educate and inform the degenerate in us all. From titillating erotic stories to listings of community and support groups, Attitudes is a veritable United Nations of smut. In addition to Attitudes.cc, Kalenteris is involved with Aphrodisiac Charm Photography, a specialized portraiture service to capture the kinky and intimate personal moments related to bedroom fun, where she's an organizer and artistic collaborator. Twice a year, she organizes cabaret fundraisers to raise money for causes like AIDS Community Care Montreal, and she also runs a series of sexuality workshops covering such topics as "Strap On Sex & Clitoral Anatomy," "Female Ejaculation" and "Marks of Beauty: Transforming Our Wounds Through Art & Touch." "Our workshops consist of a combination of lecture and interaction. We're always picking out volunteers from the audience to come up and try something," Kalenteris says. "Most people who attend workshops are in search of knowledge and have a lot of questions to ask." Looking ahead to 2005, Kalenteris plans to expand her erotic empire by branching out into adult toys, and says that one day she would like to open a "workshop retreat centre just outside of the city of Montreal." Asked whether her work ever makes her sexually jaded, Kalenteris doesn't miss a beat. "Absolutely not," she says. "There's too much out there to be bored." |
