Looking for some homegrown Montreal gear to reflect your inner flavour? As usual, there are more than enough choices in this city, but this year, try making some room in your wardrobe for the fresh designs of Good Life Apparel. The Good Life collectibles - which include high-end graphic T-shirts, long sleeve T's, zipped hoodies, sweatshirts, handbags, slip mats, stickers and panty combos for the ladies - were born out of the imaginative collaborations of Thau Weva, Keithy Antoine (Lady Special K), and Williamson Dulcè (Demo la Perfectionist), all of whom have been designing together under the Inventive umbrella of MAKE Media Inc. since 1999.
MAKE is responsible for T-shirt collections and ad campaigns for companies like Simons, Marie-Eve and Holt Renfrew, and has bridged the gap doing creative consulting for people like Warner Brothers Films, Labatt and Molson. They're also responsible for the CD design of Montreal's latest international export, Corneille. Not bad on paper, but MAKE took their Good Life™ gear and launched their first collection in March of 2004 at the Miami Winter Music Conference. Shortly after they were invited to present an art exhibit in Paris alongside legendary vibraphonist Roy Ayers in April of 2004, where the exhibit ran for 15 days and Good Life got its first taste of Europe.
The crisp, colourful images and the concepts that make up the signature designs of Good Life Apparel reflect the words behind the MAKE moniker: Manifest Authenticity Knowledge and constant Evolution. Like all true Montreal artists, this innovative team have their sights not only on the city they call home, but the bigger world as well. Look for Good Life to hit retail racks of select local and international boutiques as of January 2005.
