If you didn't get your fix of onscreen infidelity with Mike Nichols' star-studded Closer, then rent John Curran's star-studded We Don't Live Here Anymore. Both films revolve around two intertwining cheating couples. But unlike the sexy, successful adulterers in Closer, Curran's unforgiving drama follows two New England marriages that are bogged down with financial woes, professional regrets and snotty-nosed kids.

To recap: Jack Linden (Mark Ruffalo) lets his dick wander to escape his relationship. Terry Linden (Laura Dern) spreads 'em to deal with her father issues. Edith Evans (Naomi Watts) is trying to supplement her loveless union with Hank Evans (Peter Krause), who, well, he's just your standard womanizing pig. But it's Dern who gives the stand-out performance, with her cringeworthy depiction of a desperate housewife clinging to a failing marriage.

And if you've read the Mirror's 2004 top-10 film lists, then you already know how impressed we all were with Open Water. The micro-budget, docu-style thriller - about a vacationing couple stranded in shark infested waters during a deep-sea diving tour - is coming out on DVD this week. » SARAH ROWLAND
